I have no birthday wishlist this year. I never got most of what’s in my list anyway, so why bother making one. And besides, turning 26 is not as monumental as stepping into quarter-life (I believe that I will be able to celebrate my 100th) or being a debutante at 18 (I never had this big 18th birthday celebration-which most girls are dreaming of) or starting living life at 40 (most middle-aged people convince themselves that life begins at forty-maybe, maybe not). Twenty-sixth birthday is just so unspecial for me as it follows after my 25th, which I made a big deal of just because.
But it doesn’t mean that I am not looking forward to celebrating my 26th Birthday. In fact, I am so excited for the next 26 days leading to my 26th because I know and I am sure (and I am making it happen-with the help of people close to me) I am going to do a bit of traveling, updating little nonsense here, get in touch with people I haven’t seen or spoken to or touched base with in a long time, cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, sleep and sleep a lot, waste my time doing nothing, job hunting and in the process discovering what I really want to do (erm, really crossing my fingers on this), and finally, after 10 years, celebrate my birthday at home, with my family and loved ones. It may seem impossible to do this in the next 26 days, heck I even doubt it myself given my knack for laziness and lack of resources, but since these are NOT a wishlist but a proper To Do List, I am doing this and Imma make this happen.
So to kick-start my 26-day countdown: I’ve revamped and improved my blog. So from now on, this will be the new and permanent Dumpsite of IamJoyceee’s ramblings. I would have gone further and bought a domain to make it more special but I didn’t. Instead, I made and slaved over the new banner. 😀
